Nyoho Mountain from Futarasan
This is the southern approach to Nyoho Mountain, beginning near Futarasan Shrine in Nikko’s UNESCO World Heritage area. The trail climbs from the shrine forest through rising terrain — birch groves, open grass, and wide views back over the Kanto plain — toward the remote 2,483 m Nyoho summit. A long, quiet climb best from spring to late autumn. Base yourself at Earth Hostel Nikko Riverhouse.
