A short trip from Earth Hostel, this cliff offers a 9-metre drop into a clear river pool — a local spot for cliff jumping, with a tiny beach for swimming or a picnic. Getting down takes a drive and a short hike, so hiking boots are essential. Hostel staff can take you there. Base yourself at Earth Hostel Nikko Riverhouse.
Cliff Jumping

A bit of a distance away, there’s a cliff with a 9 meter drop into 3 meters of water. It requires a drive and some hiking to get to.
The cliff offers a stunning view of the surrounding landscape. It’s a popular spot for adrenaline junkies who enjoy cliff diving. The water below is clear and inviting, perfect for a refreshing swim on a hot day. Make sure to bring your camera to capture the breathtaking scenery.
It’s a great little area with a tiny beach you can sit at or have a picnic. It takes a bit to hike down to it, though. It is best to have hiking boots with you. Sandles or flipflops won’t really work.
A note on safety: the pool is only deep enough to jump after sufficient recent rainfall, and conditions vary through the season. We assess before heading out and take guests only when it’s safe.
If you really want to do it, we’ll take you there.
