Suginamiki Park is Nikko’s UNESCO-listed cedar avenue u2014 400-year-old trees up to 40 m tall lining 35 km of historic road. Free, year-round, and walkable or cycleable from Earth Hostel in 30 minutes.
Ganman-ga-Fuchi is a free lava rock walk along the Daiya River in Nikko — 20–30 minutes through cedar forest past a row of moss-covered Bakejizo ghost statues. Uncrowded, atmospheric, and walkable from the shrines.
