The hike from Shobugahama on Lake Chuzenji past Kumakubo (Bear Cove) to Senjugahama (Senju beach) can also be part of the Takayama hike as you can read here >.

In that hike, there are more photographs that show the actually trail.  We got of the bus at Shobugahama and this hike started there, a night of camping and the next day a direct hike to Bear Cove.  Bear Cove is one of my top spots. love. it.

Spring, summer and autumn are all great times to hike this trail, the colors and angles of sunlight are amazing.

This trail can be extended by hiking to Lake Sai and even Senjogahara after there.
