The last two weeks of March and the first two weeks of November are a great time to hike in snow in Senjogahara without it being too cold.

Along most of the main trail on the hiking paths of Senjogahara is a wonderful creek.  During thishike we saw many ducks and various species of small birds.

The plateaux is about 1400 meters above sea level.  Tourist Nikko, JR Nikko and Tobu Nikko train stations are about 600 meters above sea level.

By car and bus, it takes about 1 hour to get here from Central Nikko (Imaichi) and 40 minutes to get here from tourist Nikko, JR Nikko / Tobu Nikko train stations to get to the Senjogahara area.
